FAQs

Ordering

Do you have a shop I can visit?

No. We are online only, which is part of why the prices work.

Can I change or cancel an order?

Email us straight away with your order number. Stocked items go for picking quickly, and once something is packed we cannot stop it. Personalised pieces go into production fast for the same reason, so the window on those is short.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes, in fixed amounts, delivered by email. They never expire.

Personalised and printed pieces

How do I check my personalisation before it prints?

You get a live preview on the product page as you type. What you see there is what goes to the printer, spelling and all — so read it twice. We do not proofread personalisation, because a name we think is a typo is very often somebody's actual name.

Can I put a band's logo or an album cover on a print?

No. Those belong to the artists and their labels, and reproducing them without a licence is copyright infringement. What we can do is your own words, your own dates, your own photo, and our original designs. If you want genuine band merchandise, everything in Band Merch is officially licensed and bought through UK wholesalers who hold the licence.

What paper do you print on?

Heavyweight matte art stock as standard, printed in the UK. Framed pieces are glazed and arrive ready to hang.

Are prints posted flat or rolled?

Unframed prints go rolled in a rigid tube. Framed pieces go boxed with corner protection.

Instruments and accessories

Are strings and cables genuine brand stock?

Yes. Everything is bought through UK trade suppliers, and we keep the invoices. Nothing is grey import.

Which strings do I need?

Gauge and scale matter more than brand. If you tell us the instrument and how you play, we will tell you what to get — including when the cheaper set is the right answer.

Do you set instruments up before sending them?

No, and we would rather say so than pretend. Instruments ship as they arrive from the distributor. A beginner guitar benefits enormously from a proper setup by a local tech, and it usually costs less than people expect.

Is this a good first instrument?

Ask us. We would rather talk you out of the wrong purchase than take the order and deal with the return.

Vinyl and studio

Will these sleeves fit my records?

Our inner and outer sleeves are standard 12-inch. Seven-inch sleeves are listed separately and are not interchangeable — a surprising number of returns start here.

Do acoustic panels actually work?

Yes, within reason. Panels absorb reflections and tighten a room up. They do not soundproof it — stopping sound leaving a room is a construction job, not a wall-panel job. Anyone telling you otherwise is selling you something.

Are the neon signs real neon?

No, they are LED neon. They run cool, take far less power, do not shatter, and last considerably longer. Real glass neon is beautiful and fragile and we are not going to post it to you.

Delivery and returns

How long does delivery take?

Stocked items leave us the same or next working day and arrive in two to four. Made-to-order pieces take three to five working days to produce, then post. Full detail on the Delivery & Returns page.

Do you ship outside the UK?

Not yet. Everything we sell is held or made in the UK and goes to UK addresses. We would rather do one country properly than four badly.

How long do I have to return something?

30 days, unused and in its original packaging. Return postage on a change of mind is yours to pay; on a fault it is never yours to pay. Personalised pieces are exempt unless faulty.
