Shipping policy
We sell two kinds of thing, and they travel differently. Both are dispatched from within the United Kingdom — nothing is coming in from overseas, nothing sits in customs, and nothing takes three weeks.
How long it takes
| What you ordered | Dispatched within | In transit | Total, typically |
|---|---|---|---|
|
Art prints and framed prints printed to order for you |
2–4 working days | 2–3 working days | 4–7 working days |
|
Decor, ornaments and instruments held in stock in a UK warehouse |
1–5 working days | 2 working days, tracked | 3–7 working days |
We would rather give you a date we can keep than a fast one we cannot. These are the outside figures, and most orders beat them.
Every print is made once you order it, so nothing sits in a warehouse fading. That is the trade: a few days' wait, and a print that has never been handled by anyone but the people who made it.
If anything is going to take longer than the window above, we will email you before it is due — not after.
What it costs
| Destination | Cost |
|---|---|
| United Kingdom — standard | Free over £50, otherwise £4.99 |
| United Kingdom — express | £6.99 |
You are charged delivery once per order, whatever is in it. We do not charge per item, and we do not charge you twice because your order came from two places.
We ship to the United Kingdom only. If that changes, it will say so here.
Orders with more than one item
Prints and decor pieces are packed and sent separately, so an order containing both will arrive as more than one parcel, usually a day or two apart. The same is true if two prints finish production at different times — we send them as they are ready rather than holding everything back for the slowest one.
Every tracking number will be in your dispatch emails. Again: you are only charged delivery once, no matter how many parcels it takes.
How it travels
Unframed prints are rolled in tissue and sent in a rigid tube. Tubes survive letterboxes and delivery vans in a way flat packs do not.
Framed prints travel boxed, with corner protection, on a tracked courier service. The glaze is perspex rather than glass — lighter, safer, and it arrives in one piece.
Decor pieces travel boxed on a tracked 48-hour service. Mirrors, glass and ceramics are packed for the journey, but see the note below about checking them on arrival.
Tracking
You will get a dispatch email with a tracking number when your order leaves. That email is the one to keep. If it has not arrived within two working days of the window above closing, email hello@koveandcanvas.com and we will chase it.
Addresses
Check your delivery address at checkout. We can usually still change it if you email us quickly, but once a parcel has been dispatched we cannot. A parcel sent to an old address and returned to us is treated as a change-of-mind return.
If it arrives damaged
Mirrors, glass and ceramics occasionally lose an argument with a delivery van. If a parcel arrives visibly crushed, photograph it before you open it if you can, then email us. We will replace or refund — your choice — and the return postage is never yours to pay on a damaged item.
If it does not arrive
Tell us. We will open an enquiry with the courier and, if the parcel is lost, replace or refund. You do not have to chase the courier yourself; that is our job.
Couriers usually need a short window to close an enquiry before a parcel is formally lost, so there may be a few days where the honest answer is "we are waiting too". We will keep you posted rather than go quiet.
October to December
Printers and warehouses both slow down over the Christmas run, and honesty serves you better than optimism: allow an extra day or two through November and December, and order early. We will publish real cut-off dates here once the carriers announce theirs.
Returns
Covered separately in our Refund Policy, including the 30 days you have to change your mind and who pays the postage.
